If your foodie friend isn’t picking up their phone, it’s probably because they’re deep in the kitchen, experimenting with the MasterChef sauce that contestant Sumeet Saigal crafted on last night’s episode. Her creation earned her a prize even more rewarding than winning the entire show.

Sumeet Saigal wins Immunity prize with MasterChef sauce

In the Thursday night episode of MasterChef Australia, renowned chef Curtis Stone challenged the remaining 11 contestants to create a unique fusion sauce.

Sweet angel Sumeet Saigal emerged victorious with her InTALIAN Simmer Sauce, a delightful mix of Italian and Indian flavors, featuring meatballs and naan with oregano chili butter.

The 46-year-old expressed that winning this particular prize was more significant to her than clinching the entire season, as her ultimate chef dream is to develop her own line of sauces.

In a conversation with Refinery29 Australia, Sumeet shared: “This is the culmination of every dream I’ve held. Every culinary dream I’ve envisioned, this is a far grander realization of it.”

“If there was one challenge I needed to win in this competition, this was it,” she added. “Sauce has always been my specialty… It was in my application with my sauce bottles. I had a vision for it. I had such a clear culinary dream. I had even visualized my branding and the entire proposal page! The idea was crystal clear in my mind.”

“When I walked into that challenge that day, I knew this was the one for me to conquer,” she continued. “This was the moment.”

The mother-of-two shared that “winning it was more magnificent than my wildest dreams. It was such a beautiful moment, a real ‘pinch me’ moment. It took me two or three days to fully grasp that it actually happened. It’s truly special.”

InTALIAN Simmer Sauce is now available at Coles

This marks the second consecutive year that Coles has brought a MasterChef sauce to life in collaboration with Paramount Brand Studio.

“Having my sauce on Coles shelves is a dream come true. I am immensely grateful to MasterChef, Network 10, and Coles for this life-changing opportunity,” Sumeet Saigal shared with Paramount.
